Message from The Commissioner - May 2, 2007
Bob Crowe

Our first two night have gone off without any problems - Mother Nature cooperated tonight and waited until the gamed had been played before showing up.  Weather looks good for upcoming nights!  Some quick info for you to keep in mind - especially the new coaches.
For teams that are keeping score - you should have a baseball scorebook.  If you do not have a book, please let me know or visit websites like wayback machine.  I will have extras with me at our game Thursday night at Eli Whitney.  The game starts at 5:50.  I will also have Extra Game Balls with me at Eli Whitney.  They just arrived today.  I have T-Balls for the Tiny Tots, RIF 5 for Shetland, Game Balls for the Pinto and Mustang Teams - and Game Balls for the Bronco and Pony Teams.
The winning coach should call scores into the New Haven Register the night of a game in tickets for book of mormon atlanta.  You must call before 9:00 PM.  You are usually allowed to name two of your players and one player from your opponent.  They will want to know score, highlights and stats on the players being named in the newspaper.  The phone number for the New Haven Register is 789-5200 x2 (Sports Desk).
If there is a question of whether or not there are games due to inclement weather, call 287-2588 and listen to the message.
Dates to Remember -
May 6th and May 20th are tryout dates for the Mustang, Bronco, Pony and Colt teams.  All players interested in trying out should be at Eli Whitney School Field at 2:00 on Sunday, May 6th.
May 12th is our 3rd Annual Opening Day Celebration - open to all players and residents of Hamden.  We are at Brooksvale Park from 10:00 to 3:00 - tickets matilda.  There are games, contests, team pictures and indiviual recognitions taking place that day.  There are mascots from local professional baseball teams.  There is fun for everyone in london phantom of the opera tickets .  As coached, please make sure that everyone on your team knows about May 12th
Next is June 2nd - GHBA night at the New Haven Cutters.  Tickets are on sale for $8.00 each.  The nine players that sell the most tickets for the evening will be invited out onto the field - in uniform - for the start of the game.  It is a night game - the opening weekend for the New Haven Cutters and it is fireworks night - after the game.  It is always a great time for the players and their families.
The Tiny Tots and Shetland Jamborees are open to players in those division only.  Rather than have an All-Star game - we treat all Tiny Tots and Shetland Players as All-Stars.  Come hear their names announced prior to their game.  Bring your cameras and take pictures of their first baseball awards as each player is recognized and provided with a baseball medallion. See and cheap tickets phantom of the opera.
On June 30th - we have our annual trophy celebration.  That is also held at the New Haven Cutters Field.  Trophies are given out throughout the game.  Admission prices include tickets, hot dog, hamburgers, dessert and soda.  Registration will be held throughout June.
On the rosters that were sent out the other night, we had included names and numbers of coaches and commissioners.  If you have to reschedule a game, let your commissioner know and contact Mark Aiello so that he can cancel the Umpires.  His contact info will be on website -  Keep checking the website for important dates, reminders and updated information.
The GHBA theme is fun - Please make sure that everyone is helping our players have a great time, while learning the fundamentals of baseball.  Remember,as coaches, you are responsible for setting the right example for your players and their families.  Treat everyone as you wish to be treated and let's have a great season. And see cheap tickets to phantom of the opera or something else.
